Rant for today Im sick of stupid words that need to go ..... Selfie — a picture you take of yourself by holding the camera at arm’s length, recognizable by the fact that your arm is in the picture. The sound of this word gives me douche chills and please stop doing it. Along with calling your best friend your Bestie Trending - Does it really matter if something is trending world wide? Really?? YOLO – acronym for “You Only Live Once.” JUST STOP Irregardless - Origin: Unknown, but many believe its a combination of irrespective and regardless. Most dictionaries list it as nonstandard or incorrect. Why it sucks - This is not a word! It bothers me that I even need to put this on the list, but I still hear people say it, all the time, and not even ironically. They say it because they think its a real word. But even on the face of it, it doesnt work, because its a double-negative. The ir- and the -less essentially cancel each other out. This is a jumble of stupid. Hipster — the flannel-wearing, liberal arts-educated, indie music-listening, director name-dropping, craft beer-drinking, 20-or-30-something dude or dudette that you’ve definitely seen. Enough of this shit already Bromance - What happened to buds or friends? Foodie - Oh, youre a foodie? So you like food? Guess what? So does everyone else on the planet. People assign fancy titles to the things they do because it makes them feel better (than you). End Rant
