Rant of the Day... How I am responsible for $800 for blood work that was billed as $1132? The average that Medicare pays is only $200 in which that is deemed paid in full. If your a cash patient you only have to pay $632 then that is considered paid in full because cash patients get a 40% discount but BCBS only gets a $300. Note this is all for blood work in my doctors office that should of been covered by my co pay but instead got charged as an outpatient charge because the wrong service code was put in thus the HUGE FEE. The problem isnt the fact that we pay for less privileged individuals like Sterling Hudson would say. Its the fact that Hospitals can charge outrageous amounts of money to the end client because there are no rules or regulations. Dont get me started on a privatized healthcare system that is now something you have to have or you pay a fine. I dont see a conflict of interest there what so ever. Or the fact that when you call and talk to them the only answer is thats not how this works.
