“Rant on Russell” After watching the Jeremy Paxman - TopicsExpress

“Rant on Russell” After watching the Jeremy Paxman interview with Russell Brand I was impressed initially by the way Brand conducted himself. He seemed to be genuine and caring about the state of the world. On reflection however I have come to realise that he is playing us into the hands of the people he is seeming to detest. By trying to convince the electorate that voting is a waste of time, he is allowing the ones who will always go out and vote, a dictatorship. In fact the corporate society would love it if we all just talked passionately about the economy, the lack of compassion, the monetarism, the dis-enfranchised, the wars and learned to speak authoritatively on these subjects, but did nothing about them. By ignoring the Politicians and Political parties that implement the policies that make them and the corporate elite even more wealthy and more powerful we are are playing into their hands. Russell Brand is being manipulated by the media and the corporate classes to speak about the downtrodden and the injustice in the world. They the “Corporate/ Ruling Class” just love those that talk about revolution, without having any idea how to start one other than using ridicule. The more I think about how political and economic institutions are taking over every aspect of our lives and the commentators who continually make money from commentating about it, the more I think how important it is to watch and listen to what you see around you in everyday life, then form your own opinion and not the opinions of the controlled. I am learning to take mental notes of the conversations I hear and form my opinions on everyday learning, observing the environment around me. Without being angry, (and that is difficult) I voice my concern, sometimes in a humorous manner, sometimes in a serious, one, taking into consideration everything I have heard and seen and make my own judgements not the ones of the elite, wither that be the Privileged, Corporate. Media, Economic, Theatrical/Entertainment or Political, then get up off my arse and try to do something about it and the one thing I can do, that just might make a difference is VOTE.
