Rant rant rant. Even the best most considerate men are sometimes totally unaware of how gender patronizing they are. I play competitively with a number of male friends, and they are constantly congratulating themselves for how the help me succeed. If I do better than them, it is because they were watching my back and distracting the opposition for me. If I down more enemies, it is because they were funneling opposition to me, or luring the enemy who, of course, were only interested in going after the boys in the first place...because the boys are more of a threat, obviously. I get it. Were an androcentric culture. It is tough to recognize what is a subtle undercurrent of our culture. But sometimes I wish I had the power to give people vaginas. Yes. If I had a super power, it would be to give people vaginas.
