Raphaël Dallaporta, a French artist, used a drone to find and photograph archeological sites in Afghanistan. Images on display at the Centre des arts actuels Skol show clear evidence of villages abandoned centuries ago. Dallaporta crashed his drone and had to put up reward posters to find it. One villager brought in a drone — from Germany. More fun is Max Dean’s robot at VOX, centre de l’image contemporaine. The robot has an arm that picks up family snapshots, one by one, and presents them to the visitor. If you like the photo of a cute little girl with Santa, you put your hand up and the robot deposits it in an archival box. If the visitor doesn’t intervene, the robot puts the photograph into a shredder.
