Rapid City Police are investigating a shooting at the Budget Host Motel on Mount Rushmore Road early Friday morning. When police were called to the motel at about 2:30am, they found a 42-year old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to the hospital. Police say initial reports indicate the victim was in a room with several people, including a woman. Those reports say a relative of the woman came to the motel room and got into an argument. He was told to leave and pulled out a handgun and fired at the victim as he was leaving. Police say the suspect fled and they are searching for him.
