Rapp Sheet - Friday, November 14, 2014 This weekend well continue our series of sermons on “When I Grow Up…” Well then consider how we might cultivate three of the fruit of the Spirit: Patience, kindness and generosity (or goodness – the Greek word is translated as both in various Bibles). It’s funny to me how throughout the week as I have been pondering these virtues and preparing this message the Lord has put so many opportunities to “practice” what I preach. In the grocery store line, sitting in traffic, with the rude customer in the Starbucks, and an assortment of everyday annoyances and frustrations, I am constantly faced with the decision, “Will I respond in the flesh or will I exhibit the fruit of the Spirit?” I doubt I am alone in that. So if you know someone who is ever impatient, who can be a bit abrupt or unkind at times, or who can be a bit stingy at times – invite them to come (I know you dont ever personally struggle with these things, but Im sure you know someone who does J!). Im hoping this will be a light hearted yet important message – it has been for me as Ive been preparing it. Please also remember this Sunday we will also be honoring Valerie Shakley and celebrating her ministry with our church. Finally tomorrow is the LINK Coat Drive. Thank you to all who have donated coats! We are expecting a large turnout of people to claim them. We could use volunteers in the afternoon hours to help with distribution. Blessings! Randy
