Rather than be influenced by the political pundits’ hyperbolic - TopicsExpress

Rather than be influenced by the political pundits’ hyperbolic interpretation of the recent SCOTUS decision regarding Hobby Lobby, I actually read the court’s lengthy opinion. I found the written opinion to be a far cry from the sweeping victory claimed by the evangelical right, nor is it the agonizing spiral toward a loss of women’s reproductive rights that liberals have claimed. The decision appears to be very narrowly tailored and crafted to both protect religious freedom and maintain access to abortive contraception. The burden, however, to pay for these 4 types of potentially-abortive contraception has been shifted from the employer to the government (or one-self). I invite everyone who has a strong opinion about this case to educate themselves on the RFRA and the ACA, particularly as they are applied to this particular SCOTUS decision. They media hype will always lead you astray from reality. #turnoffyourtv #burnyournewspaper #justthefactsmam #conlawnerd
