Rayyan Makno Duty-bound to forge unity and strengthen our Bangsa, - TopicsExpress

Rayyan Makno Duty-bound to forge unity and strengthen our Bangsa, that is unity and power for the Muslim Mindanaoans, the Muslim civilians, the professionals, the ulama, the mujahideen (MI, MN, and the others), the students, the NGOs, and all sectors of the Muslim society, we advocate the scrapping or removal of any trappings and other traces of the colonial regime and colonial mentality foremost of which is Moro, Moros or Moors, and change them into a truthful, rightful, and realistic names that reflect the true identity of the people and their Islamic aspirations. We have seen that the name Moro has not united us in the five decades of our struggle and has left us as an easyprey to our adversaries. We had become the object of their manipulations to support their ends towards our destruction. The saying, United we stand; divided we fall, speaks much of the realities of our times. We cannot move forward with our wist fulthinking and denials and lots of philosophysing. The other side of the divide arerelishing the thought of the effectiveness of their calling us Moros in derogation now that some of us gave in and accepted with fanaticism the name Moros that had been very detestable to the ears of our forbears. Rayyan Makno Where is our sense of values and moral fortitude, our spiritualfoundations? Where is our Maratabat or sense of propriety? The Spaniards left 100+ years ago. Our Christian wives, friends and neighbors and the government dont call us MOROs for fear of offending us. No one is calling us MOROs...except us.MORO has become an attitude problem.
