Re: CUCKOO PRESTWICH Licencing Review .... My comments are below .... If you would like to add your support please nip over to Cuckoo Prestwich and have your say. As a long term resident of Prestwich, one of Cuckoos closest neighbours, having owned the business directly next door to them for 3 years and as former chair of Prestwich independent business group and local business representative on Prestwich Township forum, I would like to add to the discussion. I have rarely come across an organisation that has worked so hard to consult with, get involved with and provide support to the community they are based in. Cuckoo have really helped to put Prestwich on the map and have been a most welcome addition to our community by pretty much all accounts. I can tell you the building was rat, pigeon infested, damp, riddled with drainage issues and a complete eyesore before the refurbishment they undertook. I fully sympathise with neighbours experiencing difficulties, however, it is really disappointing that this has escalated to a point that it is now in the hands of the authorities. Sadly, I suspect there will be more issues arising for Cuckoo over the coming months and I do hope the authorities will take a sensible view and support them. I believe the guys at Cuckoo will do whatever they can to work with the community as they have already demonstrated. Having spent a very large proportion of my time both during the day and evening in the vicinity of Cuckoo and with a daily insight into the way they conduct their business I have found them to be nothing but concerned about their impact on residents and businesses hence my reason for writing here as I think it would be very unjust if this was portrayed not to be the case. I have always found them to be friendly, approachable, clean, courteous, considerate, keen to resolve issues (yes I have raised some) and very organised as a business. As far as I know there has not been one reported incident of anti social or aggressive behaviour or police involvement during the whole licencing period, which is an astonishing achievement. I wish them every success and hope the people of Prestwich will continue to support them
