GM Baig Memorial Award for Young Journalists/Writers/Poets In the memory of Late GM Baig -- the founding President of Karakoram Writers Forum GB and the founding Chairman of Al-Azhar Model School- - and to celebrate his 25th death anniversary, the Trust is proud to announce the GM Baig Memorial Award for Young Journalists/Writers/Poets of Gilgit-Baltistan. Award Prize: Rs. 50,000/ (Fifty Thousand Rupees) Open to: Residents of Gilgit-Baltistan under 40 years of age. Deadline: August 8, 2014 Outcome announced: 25 August, 2014 Who will decide: A jury of renowned scholars/writers would nominate one prize. In case they decide for two, prize amount will be divided equally. Application Procedure: 1-Applicants should submit a personal statement of at least 1000 (either in Urdu or English) words explaining their previous work and justifying their nomination for the award. All applicants must attach a copy of their best work or alternatively they can submit online links to their work. Please dont send more than one copy. A copy of NIC is also required 2- Any individual can also nominate any other qualified person (Writer/Journalist/Poet) for this award. Nominating individual should submit a statement of nomination outlining the previous work of his nominee along with a copy their best work.
