Re-posting Satish Krishnans ([email protected]) recent experience with #Carzonrent. I want to share my bad experience with carzonrent (myles booking id 5621322) self drive cars. I am sharing this here so that people wont do same mistake as i did. Avoid taking self drive cars. I was planning a trip to Ladak but due to Kashmir rains i had to cancel that and change the plan to cover Punjab, Rajasthan, Agra and Delhi. To save 3 days i decided to fly down to Delhi from bangalore and take carzonrent (myles) self drive car from 19th Sept to 4th Oct . I repent my decision now. They dont have office in airport, they came to pick me 15 minutes late. Later the executive parked the car on lonely stretch and started making all scratches etc in car in a delivery note. I got down the car and asked him what is it for. He said I will deliver the vehicle right here!! and continued with it. I sensed something fishy about his detailed documenting. I also started taking pictures of every scratches in the vehicle after which he stopped it and handed over the key after swiping my credit card for 50k (authorization for risk coverage). Worst part of self drive car is that cops wont make it a pleasent experience and i avoided them multiple time but got under their nose when i went to pick my friend at airport. I tried with all my pursuing skills showing the documents that any body with a valid license can drive a self drive taxi registered car. But at this point they changed the topic and said i stopped at no parking area and fined me! Many in the forum warned me about this but i thought of giving it try and for entire journey, i had to be watchful of cops. They charged 1200 without asking me or giving any bill to my credit card after 25 days i returned my car! While taking the car i noticed that the car had only three wheel caps. I brought this to their notice that this is flaky thing and go off anytime. I lost two more while driving and informed them about it and specifically asked not to charge for it since the rent any way covers for 4k worth of damage as per the agreement signed. But still they charged to my credit card for an amount of 1200 without issuing any bill or informing me. When i noticed that i was charged 1200 in my credit card from my monthly statement, i called them up to enquire about this for which they where very rude and said do what ever you can but this cannot be refunded! Even the agreement clearly mention about about 4k damage coverage! I am planning to legally deal with them. Its not matter of 1200 but its cheating. Need everyones help in taking this forward and be warned about pit falls off a self drive car especially from carzonrent.
