Re-visited an old ascent and view after more than a year! 1800 feet in less than a mile...rather tricky! Last time I ran this ascent, Id only been barefoot for a few months: it was about 98 degrees, it was more overgrown than shown here, and my uphill technique consisted of overstriding and firm toe landing! I carpet burned my left foot right on the ball, and was almost hobbling the rest of the way! Somehow this led to symptoms of something called Mortons Neuroma, where I felt like I had a rock under my skin after a mile or two! I cut the skin open twice, no avail, and it took a few months for me to realize my technique needed to change! The body tells us all :). I think a common myth is that going barefoot means that instantly everything corrects and youre flying, but thats not the case, and I myself might be guilty of indirectly promoting this! Its a process, a journey, an adventure, like any new thing :) #barefootishuman #ascent #sun #runninginthesunishuman #itsaprocess #adventuringishuman
