Reaching out for Help...Rocco Needs a Fence Managers Choice Carol Collins Owner/Operator at Cees Animal Rescue Top Contributor As you know, all expenses associated with Cees Animal Rescue, Ent. (CARE) are paid for from my own pocket. I do not charge fees and I have never asked for donations, but I do need some resources, if you can help. My neighbor, Ill call her Kay, is a full time college student and mother of one. She rescued Rocco when he was a puppy, he is 2 now. In addition to caring for Rocco and her daughter, she also cares for her mother. Unfortunately, Rocco has outgrown their tiny home and is now chained outside. I put her in contact with a group that provides free fencing for tethered dogs. They came out and took measurements, but have never been back to build the fence. They are the only such group I know of in our area that provides these services. Kay is financially strapped with college, house and car payments, utility bills, child care expenses and caring for her family. She needs my help, but I cannot afford to help her at this time. I am concerned because there are 2 pit bulls at the head of our road. Their owners are careless and do not keep them confined. The dogs often run free. Both dogs have shown signs of aggression. We have contacted Animal Control on multiple occasions, but they have failed to resolve the problem. My fear is that they will attack Rocco and he will not be able to get away. Do you know of any groups in our area who provide free fencing? Or, do you know of anyone who may be able to provide free materials or financial contributions so we can put up a fence ourselves?
