Reacting to an injustice by looting and burning down the businesses that provide your fellow citizens a paycheck that puts food on their familys dinner table seems incredibly counter-productive to me. Why are people taking lives and destroying property to send a message about taking lives? The people behind the arson, shootings, and looting tonight are doing nothing but damaging their cause, and their community. I feel so very sorry for the local Ferguson business owners that have to start picking up the pieces of their life tomorrow, and the hundreds of people that wont be able to buy their children Christmas presents next month since the businesses that employ them are nothing more than charred piles of ash. The citizens of Ferguson had a chance to stand up for their city tonight, and instead they burned it down. I know that not all of the protesters reacted violently, but whatever they were trying to achieve has been ruined by those that did.
