Read... Sharad veswakar profile,records,scores,history...... ******************* Name: Sharad Vesawkar Debut: Inter-continental Cup, 2004 (against UAE) Team: Nepal, Nepal U-15/U-17/ U-19/U-25/, Tej (NPL Team), Region #3, Kathmandu, APF Strength: He can change gears according to match situation. Position: Middle-Order Batsman Highest Run (T20): 44 (against Bermuda, T20 selection 2012) Sharad Vesawkar is a player who gained popularity among the supporters as a defensive batsman when he first came to reckoning in 2004, however, to one’s surprise he portrayed a batsman completely opposite to his pro-claimed identity in T20 World Cup qualifiers which exuberantly lead the team to the T20 World Cup, 2014. His game play drastically transformed from a toddler/ nudger to an aggressive player who happens to be an extremely attacking player when needed. He scored 22 runs including three sixes in last over against Kenya which recorded one of the most unprecedented victories in history of Nepalese and Associate cricket. Apart from it, his contribution of 13 runs against Honk Kong, and match against UAE for third position where he scored 43 runs including two sixes in first two balls of last over to seal the match is counted well. In short, Sharad’s batting played a pivotal part leading Nepal to T20 World Cup. Sharad started his career in 2004 and faced many difficulties. Lack of citizenship was the worst thing he faced over the years. He finally got his citizenship before the T20 World Cup qualifier and in return he paved the path of T20 World Cup for Nepal. Lately, the team including the man himself found difficulties to play freely resulting in poor performance of Nepal in ODI World Cup qualifiers. All the supporters and well- wishers have high expectations with Sharad on back of his tremendous performance in T20 World Cup qualifier. His attacking batting should be a great advantage in the conditions and scenarios where result mostly depends in last couple of overs. Yes he was compared with one of ODI’s finest finisher MSD after that particular match. But we will have to wait till Sharad continues his merry go round in the T-20 world cup.
