Read this Mercy Ugo PRESIDENT JONATHAN AS ADAKU ONUNKWO Anytime I move about PH, though I dont see a city that claims to be Manhattan yet, but I see one with serious pretentions towards that. Anytime I listen to governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi speak, I witness a man possesed with a sense of purpose for what he wants for his city and his people. Unlike his predecessor, a demagogue and drammatist and master at public manipulations, Mr. Amaechi has little patience for decorated speech and such inanne niceties. But alarmingly, these are the very qualities that alienated him from the majority of dolts that Nigerians are. A typical Rivers man will boldly tell you, I no like Amaechi because him dey talk any how! Such folly! Sometime around January 2013, Mr. Amaechi in his usual blunt manner expressed displeasure at the slow pace of work on the East-West road, and instead of facing the matter at hand, Elder Godsday Orubebe responded that, I am particularly piqued by the disrespectful behavior of Amaechi to the office and person of President Jonathan which will no longer be tolerated and consequently sparked the flames of discord raging between Rivers state and presidency to this day. Sometimes I wonder what Nigerians really crave. A man like Mr. Amaechi who has not time for otiose yarns and crazy spiels being possesed by a sense of urgency to deliver what his clear mind tells and saying everything he wants to say as they are, or a man like Dr. Peter Odili who paints images of paradise even when standing on the very desolate plains of Hades or even a Mr. Jonathan, a man whose every yarn is scripted by paid writters yet misyarns here and there and even talks like a schizophreniac completely divorced from reality. For me, an Amaechi, though not perfect will do better than these buccaneers. He tells it as it is. He goes about his job with an obvious dedication bordering on the personal. He draws his one table according to his ideas and he walks it up with talk and and work! If you know PHC and Rivers state before Amaechi, you will know the direction he intends for the state. Can you say same of President Goodluck Jonathan? What direction is he pointing? What has he promised and delivered? What is he likely to deliver soon? I give Mr. Jonathan only one thing, he appears not to be talking, or atleast talking less than Gov. Rotimi, but truth be told, Mr. Jonathan is a noiseless noise maker! You wont understand except you served as a class monitor in primary school saddled with the duty of putting down the names of noise makers. I served severally in that position. In every class, theres always this notorious noise maker whose name is always expected to appear on the list. Mine was a girl named Adaku Onunkwo. Adaku has perfected the act of noise making to the point that made me put down her name once even when she wasnt in school for that day! I submitted to the list to Uncle Eze, our class teacher.... Na long story o. Another day abeg. Anytime I hear folks misyarn thus, Amaechi dey talk too much! I remember Adaku Onunkwo and how she reminds me of President Goodluck Jonathan, a careless, noiseless noise maker! Check his yarns since inception. You go fear fear.
