Read this its just.. amazing. VVV Ours is a generation of quick fixes, no waits, and instant communication. We impatiently tap our fingers, waiting for a 30-second microwave plate. We swipe our debit cards because writing checks takes too long. We auto draft ourselves into expediency. We expect immediate results. Many Christians have subconsciously embraced this mindset. We expect immediate deliverance from our problems and grow spiritually weak when they linger on. Pastors want growth and maturity in their churches but fail to make the huge investment of time required to actually make disciples. In our personal growth too we expect spiritual muscles without spiritual exercise. If we could get maturity and discipleship from a drive-through window, Christians would line up for miles. Then even that would take too long, and wed demand it in a phone app. We get out of breath when asked to run the long distances of faith. Were often content to settle for only the appearance of spiritual knowledge, maturity, and strength. We desire all of the benefits but none of the struggles. Progress without perseverance. Success without suffering. Thats why it doesnt take much suffering to bury the average Christian under a pile of defeat and depression. Were spiritually lazy, proven by the fact that most believers often go years without sharing their faith. I wonder how much persecution it would take to crush the Western church? We become practical atheists, acknowledging God with our lips while our hearts remain content to please ourselves. Like Hes not even there. Noah didnt have that option. After all, how could you fake an ark? He either had to go big or go home. No shortcuts for this guy. No corners to cut. No alternate routes. Thats what living in the days of Noah does for our faith.
