Read this piece written by Past Allan Bagg, and it is so true in my life, I had to share it with you all.) One of the keys for successful praying is knowing the will of God. Before going to God in prayer, first take time to seek out His will in the Word of God. If you need healing, spend some time looking up promises of His healing and renew your mind to where you know it is His desire for you to be healed. If it is provision that you desire, meditate on scriptures that speak to His pleasure for you to prosper and supply all your need. After you are convinced in your heart that it is His will for you to receive what He has promised, ask Him to reveal what it is that you should specifically pray for. I remember there was a time that I thought if God just give me a really big lump sum of money all my problems would be solved (I even figured out what the exact amount should be). It took months and months of praying and there seemed to be no breakthrough. Then I did what I have just shared with you. I fed on His Word and allowed it to show me His will for me to be delivered. Then, as I drew close to Him with a hearing ear, I sensed Him showing me how there were areas in my life that were causing the lack that I was seeing. I realised that I had been praying amiss. I changed my prayer for Him to show me wisdom for how to solve the problems and for solutions on how to manage my affairs in line with His Kingdom. It was like night became day. My inaccurate stewardship was draining, and therefore hiding me from seeing Gods provision. I watched daily as my prayers were being answered and found out that His supply was there all the time. Look what John wrote in 1 John 5:14: Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that IF WE ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE HEARS US. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE THE PETITIONS THAT WE HAVE ASKED OF HIM. Begin today by determining Gods will for your answer. And then pray confidently knowing that He hears you and that He has answered your prayer/ HAVE FAITH IN GOD!
