Now consider this statement by physicist Joseph Lykken concerning the implications for our universe of the Higgs Boson particle, More interesting to us as physicists is when you do this calculation using the standard physics we know about, it turns out were right on the edge between a stable universe and an unstable universe. Were sort of right on the edge where the universe can last for a long time, but eventually it should go boom. Theres no principle that we know of that would put us right on the edge. Science is a gift from God that enables us to observe, test, replicate, conclude and live in a very unstable and tenuous world. But scientists struggle with the Big questions of life in spite of science. For those who imagine that Christians are afraid of science or that science will or already has removed for the need of God, I say, to God be the glory! For His universe is an awesome and ever surprising testimony to Himself. Thanks be to God for science but greater praise still to the God who made science!
