Read through actors and audience required in Teignmouth on Saturday November 22nd to join us for lunch followed by a read-through of a new comedy play. We’ll be serving lunch at 1pm and kicking off the reading around 2pm, at my house Avoca in Teignmouth... As we have had - so far - only men respond to my call out for professional actors and actresses based locally, we have decided to do a read-through of ‘Espionage’ which has a plethora of male characters and only two female (including my role). The production company is Plum Roll Productions and the plan is to professionally produce three plays at the new Carlton Pavilion next year, using as many local actors as possible More information about the company is at this link:- plumrollproductions.co.uk Nigel John Howells will be playing Richard Paget, doubling with Domville Peter Spencer (Sky correspondent, who appeared in Episode 89 of The Trudy Lite Show) will be playing Inspector Cazalet, doubling with the Waiter Steve Walsh will be playing “Porky” Trusctott, doubling with Jones, the Spy and we are hoping that: Roman Black will be playing Binky Swanson, although we are still waiting for him to confirm We still need someone to play Hiriam P Clutterbuck, doubling with Hay… this character is a New York impresario and producer and Hay is heightened RP. We also need an actor to play a young playwright Billy Burke and a mature female actress to play Miss Jean Simmons 50s-70s. This character is assistant to the head of the Secret Service, similar to the Judy Dench role in the Bond films, yet a bit more quirky! If you are interested in being involved in the reading or just coming along as an audience member, please let me know… also if you know any other actors and an actress suitable to play Miss Simmons, please put them in touch. You can reach me on eva@evagray Happy Thursday :) Eva XOX
