Read with an open mind and do not relate it with any religion. Forgiveness can be me misused too - Just like Kindness, Love , and Friendship even Forgiveness is something which is getting misused by some people for their own selfish motives now a days. They give you their own interpretation of the word FORGIVENSS and hence manipulate people in doing something which is neither good for them and nor good for the society. Here are some of the ways in which it is used now a days- Forgiveness and Guilt-If you are the one who is suffered and you are the one who felt the pain then how come anyone dictate you to forgive the tormentor?? But some people will invoke a feeling of guilt in you. They will tell you that NOT FORGIVING SOMEONE IS A BAD THING...so you are the one who is suffered and you are also the one who will be projected as a Bad Person now because you are not forgiving them. So its like an insult to injury for the one who is suffered while no one is talking about the Criminal. Forgiveness and Society-When you forgive a criminal or a bad person and give him/her a clean chit then whats the message you are conveying to the society?? A simple message which is going out is that you can commit any crime and there is a group of people ready for you who will ask them to forgive you or give you a clean chit. Any wonders that the crime in our society is increasing day by day???? Say I forgive you-For eg.- A mothers child has been killed, someones husband has been killed, a childs parents has been killed. Do you think just by uttering I FORGIVE YOU...will take away their pain?? A parentless child will have to suffer this for his whole life and same goes for the mother who lost her child. Do you think forcing them to forgive the culprits will do any good??? But promising them that the culprit will be punished may give them some peace of mind. Forgiveness and Revenge - They will give you just two options either forgive them and give them a clean chit or accept that you are seeking Revenge. They will simply term your seeking justice as Seeking Revenge. Hence again invoking a feeling of guilt in you. So whatever has happened with you.. you are not allowed to show any anger, any pain....PRETEND THAT YOU ARE HAPPY and accept the its the Power of Forgiveness. The point is that, that why dont they teach people to take a stand for their rights??? Why dont they teach people to stop the hand which is trying to hit them??? Why are they willing to convert them into sheeps??? I am not asking you to go and take revenge but at least dont give a signal that their is no harm in committing a crime and that a criminal will enjoy the same respect as the one who is suffered. Forgiveness and Revenge are not the only two options. One can just leave them on their fate or on the law of karma. But forcing everyone to forgive all the tormentors instead of teaching them to be powerful enough to stop any kind of harassment is not the right way because it will force people to live like SHEEPS in the world full of WOLVES.
