Read your holy bible, folks. Right now we are in a raging battle right with the spirit of deception, heavily forewarned by both Jesus and Paul. Unapologetically throw out any opinion that doesnt line up with the word of God. Sola scriptura (Latin ablative, by Scripture alone) is the doctrine that the Bible contains all knowledge necessary for salvation and holiness. Consequently, it demands that only those doctrines be admitted or confessed that are found directly within Scripture or are drawn indirectly from it by valid logical deduction or valid deductive reasoning. Sola Scriptura does not deny that other authorities govern Christian life and devotion, but sees them all as subordinate to and corrected by the written word of God. The deception and heresy of Universalism is sadly on the increase. Carry on as you are is not preached in any of the gospels. If the kingdom of God wasnt controversial Jesus would have never begun His ministry, and ordained ours, with the command to Repent. God the Father loves us just as we are. But God loves us way too much to leave us where we are. The recent Vicky Beeching story is propagating a deception in the body of Christ (with powerful advocates like Joel Osteen), a false gospel (apostasy), that a loving God is somehow okay with our sin. Just what hint of indifference can be evidenced in the slaying of His only begotten at Calvary? Id like to know. Sin always enslaves, robs, destroys and ultimately kills. Love cannot tolerate that fruit. Gods loving will for our lives is increased light, life and holiness, through grace-empowered repentance, in step with the word of God (tested by scripture) and empowered by the Spirit of God. We have to choose to partner with Gods love. Its not easy, we must come to the cross in humility and submission. Jesus never promised a comfortable walk; He is very clear that we cannot even be a disciple unless we take up our own cross and die daily. But Truth promises, in time, to set us free. The gate is narrow but the grace endless, the joy abundant and the peace surpasses all understanding.
