Reader comments: I have been watching the anonymous posts on this site now for over year, I can relate to all too many of them. It is horrific that we live with such evil. The best advice was given to me by my attorney. She said you have to learn how to parallel parent (take a course, google it, read about it anything you can!)… as soon as you understand that their game is engagement with you/us in any way so that they can twist the truth, use our good intentions for our children against us, outright lie, etc…… we are free. The rule of no engagement, no contact is the only way. They lie, they twist, they torment, that is the goal and they use the children to do so. But when you disengage and have no contact, you take away their power and take charge of your own energy for the sake of you/us and our relationship with our children. Parallel parenting… it is not intuitive. It does not feel right, but it is the healthiest way to manage such a situation. It also teaches your children to disengage as they need to also.
