Readers on MARCA have voted for the best players in La Liga in 2013-14 after the nominees were released by the Spanish LFP. Courtois was the shotstopper to receive the most votes, Sergio Ramos was the most popular defender, Modric ran out the winner of the midfielders, Koke was the number one attacking midfielder and Ronaldo came out on top in the striking department. The former Atlético de Madrid goalkeeper received 65.7% of the votes, comfortably ahead of Keylor Navass 31% and Caballeros 3.4%. Sergio Ramos received over half of the votes in defence with 54.1% while his nearest competitors were Miranda (36.7%) and Filipe Luis (9.2%). The Croatian midfielder came away with 60.2% of the votes as the top midfielder ahead of Gabi (30.7%) and Busquets (9.1%). Kokes 47.4% came out ahead of Rakitic (33.3%) and Iniesta (19.3%) as the outstanding attacking midfielder last season. Cristiano Ronaldo was the attacking pick for 63.5% of the participants while Diego Costa (30.6%) and Carlos Vela (5.9%) came in behind with no space for Lionel Messi in the top three.
