Reading Jeremiah 24-29...about the good figs and the bad figs. The good figs represent the people of Judah who submit and go into captivity. The bad figs are those who refuse to go into the 70 years of Babylonian captivity that God has decreed for Israel. Interesting that God told the captives to build house, to marry, to have children, to plant and to harvest...and to pray for the peace and prosperity of the city which holds them captive: ""Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "When 70 years are completed for Babylon, I will come for you and fulfill My gracious promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you...plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart."" God is not hiding from us...He says, "I will be found by you." When we seek Him...with all our heart. Seek. Him.
