Reading the Kool-Aid Drinking lefties anti-gun comments is always entertaining. Last week I, along with Robert Boilard, attended an Active Shooter Seminar in Boston, presented by the Federal Bureau of Investigations Boston Office. The special Agents talked extensively about who these shooters are. One of the aspects of the conference that jumped out at me was a correlation between a 24-hour news cycle and the shooters...We NEVER talk about the contribution of the news media in these mass shootings. Think about it...a mentally disturbed person, sees the wall-to-wall coverage, a complete top-to-bottom profile and narrative of the shooter...his life...his background...wow, the guy is famous....So was there a spike in these shootings? absolutely? Was it due to the availability of guns? not likely...Were these active shooters mentally ill? you betcha...So in final analysis what have we addressed? Answer: Guns...NOT mental illness...NOT the infamy achieved during a 24-hour news cycle. Here is a test...Who is Jarred Loughner? Who is James Holmes? All of America knows who they are so they achieved a goal...in a moment they went from being nobodys to infamous villains...Who can be credited with that? Guns? yeah, not so much.
