Ready First Family and Friends, We understand your frustration with Main Body 16 delay. We tried to get everyone home on time, but in the process of moving 4500 people around half the globe, a plane had a maintenance problem. The original plane scheduled to bring your Soldiers home broke. The airline sent a repair part to Kyrgyzstan, but the part was delayed. To get your Soldiers to you as fast as possible we will be moving them by military aircraft to Germany, where they will board a civilian plane to bring them home. We anticipate having our Soldiers back to Fort Bliss on 21 September. We are working closely with transportation command to make this possible. We can take comfort there are no longer any Ready First Soldiers in Afghanistan and you Soldier will be coming home safely to you.
