Ready to feel old? Recently, the Ridgeview Junior High School Media Center held an Antique Museum during which students got to see and interact with gadgets from the past and learn about life before computers and smart phones. Mr. Jason Swartzs original Atari game gained a lot of attention, as did a giant second-generation cell phone courtesy of Mrs. Janeen Kuhl. A rotary telephone and Mrs. Marna Maynards typewriter from the 1930s were also highlights. An old-fangled device known as a record player played tunes from a group called The Beatles and someone named Elvis. Shown below are eighth grader Bella Barnett with the typewriter, eighth grader Nana Erzuah with the rotary phone and seventh-grader Joseph Oler with what we can only surmise is a disintegration ray from the 1960s Star Trek series. (OK, we think its actually an old movie camera, but wouldnt a disintegration ray have been cool?)
