Real Photo of First NISHAN-E-HAIDER Holder Capt Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed Name: Raja Muhammad Sarwar Khan Bhatti, Born: 1910 Gujar Khan, Punjab, Martyred: 27 July 1948 Uri, Kashmir, Allegiance: Pakistan Army, Years of Service: 1944 - 1948, Rank: Captain, Unit: Punjab Regiment, Wars: First Kashmir War, Awards: Nishaan-e-Haider. Captain Sarwar Shaheed was born on 10th November 1910 at Sangori village of Gujar Khan. Captain Sarwar Shaheed started his career as a guard but he became a permanent army guard within four years. During the Second World War he got a lot of promotion and in 1944 he became second lieutenant. In 1946, he was sent to Punjab regiment and six months before the partition of sub-continent he became Captain. During the Kashmir Operations soon after the birth of Pakistan, as Company Commander of the 2nd Battalion of the Punjab Regiment, Captain Sarwar filled with the spirit of Jihad launched an attack causing heavy casualties against a strongly fortified enemy position in the Uri Sector under heavy machine gun, grenade and mortar fire. But on 27 July 1948, as he moved forward with six of his men to cut their way through a barbed wire barrier, he died when his chest was riddled by a burst of heavy machine gun fire.
