Real Self Confidence is not based on our achievements or our successes in this material world, but it is based on the fulfillment of who we are, what our purpose is, and what we represent to ourselves, our families and to the world around us. If a person has such a Self Confidence, he can generate that confidence and faith in others. Actually to fail is not much of a loss. To lose ones character and integrity is a major loss to our inner life. A person with proper disposition and attitude is willing to accept even a major failure in the eyes of the world in order to preserve the high values that he or she believe in. If we are willing to sell our ideals, our ethics, our character, our integrity to sell our soul for the adoration of this world, our so called Self Confidence will be built on a foundation of sand. It has no real substance and it can bring us no real fulfillment. Low Self Esteem is one of the biggest problems in the world. Not only for the apparent down driving people, but even for the people in big big high controlling positions. Low self esteem really means, “a lack of really finding fulfillment within ones inner life”. What are the characteristics of persons with low self esteem? They like to gossip. These are some symptoms. According to a particular state of consciousness of a person may be in. They like to gossip, why? Because if that would gives you pleasure, there is not much inside, its Cheap. Where as people who actually are self confident: they speak of their ideals in life. Not of the faults of others. A person with low self esteem is critical, easy to criticize others. Where as a person with some inner fulfillment is respectful to others, is naturally longing to show respect to others, to be caring toward others. HH Radhanath Swami Maharaj
