Real pleasure Scripture We get our new life from the Spirit, so we should follow the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 Meditation His wife was a Christian, but Armen wasn’t interested in Jesus. Still, he reasoned reading the Bible she’d received through Bible League International would give him the information he needed to attack her beliefs. As he read, though, something unexpected happened: anger and resentment began to melt away from his heart. Living in Armenia in the former Soviet Union, he took a risk and secretly went to the man leading the new church in the village. “I asked him many questions,” says Armen. “His answers began to open the Bible to me.” Before long, he became more than interested in Christ. “I repented and accepted Jesus as my Savior. For the first time … I experienced a real peace.” Today, Armen has a different motivation for reading the Bible. “[It] is now a real pleasure for me because it is God’s Word. And the exciting part is now I have the Holy Spirit to help me understand what it is God wants me to know and do.” Armen is living out today’s verse—and so should you. Seek His Word faithfully. Derive enjoyment from its teachings. Allow your life to be infused with power from His Spirit. Prayer God, I ask You to honor the efforts of Bible League International and others working to make Your Word accessible to people in their homelands and in their language. Amen.
