Realizing for the first time that the holiday season is nearly upon us again. Where has the time gone? Last Thanksgiving was probably the best of my entire life. Christmas was....well, it wasnt the worst, but it was definitely in the top 5ish. This year Ill essentially be on my own and Im actually okay with that. It seems fitting that this holiday season be spent in solitude. The holidays should be about being thankful for the blessings from the year and appreciating ones growth, and its not that I wasnt last year but there was so much going on and so many distractions that I feel I missed out on something sacred. The holiday season has been really hit and miss over the years. There are always distractions, some spectacular and some catastrophic, but distractions nonetheless. This year Ill have very little to distract me and I can appreciate this season for the scared nature it is inherently meant to have. Ill be missing my loved ones, but its still going to be a good holiday season and Ill be excited to embark on the coming year.
