Really applicable thought by Dan Wolgemuth this morning: At His Feet Noble intentions produce cluttered souls and squander opportunities to harvest moments of solitude with Jesus. When noble intentions take a back seat to a hungry heart, our minds absorb the very words of God. We cease striving and listen. Our souls make room to contain the richness of His message. God, the great I AM, not only breathes life into our nostrils, He speaks words of life into our souls. He generously dispenses the treasure of His truth to those who put aside anything that might compromise profound moments at the feet of the Messiah. Even the most outstanding cause can become a distraction if it takes us away from the feet of Jesus. Acts of mercy and justice return empty handed if they do not flow from the embrace of Christ. In contrast, our passion to serve is renewed through the humility of submitting to the King. “For you have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68)... How often are you are too busy to listen to His words? Even though you are doing and serving, talking and training, helping and reaching, you may be missing the point. Stop doing. Stop serving. Start listening. Put first things first at the feet of Jesus.
