Reasons not to start Moore over Tannehill 1) He is not starter material. If he had been then his starts in Carolina or his 12 starts in Miami (2011) would have proven this. He also would have been able to keep Tannehill, as a rookie, off the field. 2) When he had 12 starts in Miami he threw 16 TDs : 9 Ints and lost 6/14 fumbles. 3) Tannehill signed a 4 year contract. Giving him this 3rd season to prove himself isnt going to hurt. Especially when you consider that Moore is a lateral move at best. 4) While he is responsible for many of the sacks the last two games, the OLine is markedly better than last year. Much of his struggle last season was, truly, due to the OLine. This is the first year where his ability can really be measured. Hes not a rookie and he has a passable OLine 5) The running of Miller today (though the coaches did a crap job of capitalizing on it calling wise) proves that, even without Moreno, Miami can be 2 dimensional. Teams will start to respect the run more and that will lessen pressure the line can put on Tannehill. 6) Last season Ryan threw 24 tds. In 7 seasons of NFL football Matt Moore has thrown just 33 TDs but 28 Ints. In one season, with a bad line, RT nearly matched MMs career TD total. Should we get another QB next year? Maybe. (Probably) Is there an upgrade at QB available to us this year? Unlikely (No.) Why make a move if it isnt an upgrade? We should stop pretending Moore is an upgrade or that it will benefit the team to have him in. Cmon now.
