Recap for Sept 24/14 In bed, EJ confesses to Sami knew what Kristen did to Eric before the wedding and kept it from her because he was trying to hold on to her. Sami knows. EJ’s happy she knew and still came back to him. Sami knew he’d have done something about it if he could. She also knows that lying is a reflex for DiMeras. He adopts an Irish accent and says he hopes her Irish temper isn’t going to show. They make love and later, Sami wonders how Stefano will take their reunion. Chad arrives at Will’s to catch up. Will tells him he now works for Sonix and that they want him to do his next cover on Chad. Chad’s skeptical. Will says no matter what, the story will be written but he’ll try to protect him and be fair and accurate, plus it’ll be good for his career. When asked, Will says he’ll protect Abigail but not EJ. Chad wants time to consider it. He goes. At the hospital, Hope’s glad to hear John’s waking up. Marlena has concerns, knowing there’s no guarantee of what John will remember. John wakes up in his room and says, “Son.” Brady grins and tears up. In his office, Daniel speaks into a recording device about John’s case and that he hopes John will remember who put him in the coma. Later, he and Marlena head to see John and are happy his memory of them seems intact. Daniel sends the others out and asks John if he remembers what happened to him. Later, Daniel goes to Marlena and Brady and says John’s resting. At the Horton square, Kristen can tell Theresa heard the good news that John’s waking up. “Glory be, glory be,” she singsongs. She taunts Theresa, wondering what John’s first words will be. Theresa says she’s team Brady but if that’s true, Kristen wonders why she’s not at his side. Back at the hospital, Marlena goes to see John and Daniel reminds Brady to be patient with his father. Brady wants to apologize. Theresa arrives and Daniel asks him not to apologize. He takes him into his office and asks Brady not to barrage John with questions or details. He’ll talk in his own time. Meanwhile, Marlena spots Theresa who claims she’s thrilled John’s out of his coma but Marlena thinks it looks more like she’s frightened. Brady interrupts and Marlena goes. Theresa asks Brady not to listen to anything John has to say when he wakes up. In so many words, she infers that John might lie about what happened that night. Brady assures her that’d never happen and he has to face up to what John dishes out. He goes into John’s room while Theresa gets an idea. Brady notices John’s hands are cold so gets a blanket while Theresa goes in and takes out a syringe... At Kristen’s, she calls Stefano and says John will have some tales to tell when he wakes up. Stefano finds that laughable. He tells her to stay in the moment. “The best laid priests… I mean plans can go wrong.” He sends her a text – a picture of Susan, which should remind her never to overestimate her position. She winces. Isn’t it enough she sees her in her nightmares? Kristen’s focus is on Brady. She hangs up and takes off. Hope turns up at the Brady’s pub with an update about John. Caroline’s happy he’s waking up but can tell Hope’s got something on her mind. Hope says she loves Caroline, who has always made her feel a part of Bo’s family. She prayed Bo would come back to her but she has lost her faith and has decided to divorce him. Back at the DiMera mansion, EJ takes a call from Harold who says Marlena’s on the way. “Release the dogs,” EJ says jokingly. Sami groans. She has to dress! Later, EJ has left and Marlena bursts in to tell Sami John’s awake. Sami jumps up and down, happily. Marlena heard Sami and EJ were getting closer. She wants her daughter’s happiness. Sami tears up, thankful. Kristen goes to Daniel’s. She knows John’s waking up and Daniel tells her John recognized everyone but they’re not sure about the extent of the trauma. Kristen’s giddy. He asks her to leave Brady alone not just for his sake but for hers. No matter what, she’s never getting back with Brady. Kristen can’t accept that. She thinks he’s coming on to her. “In your wildest dreams,” he says. She laughs. “No, in your wildest.” EJ runs into Chad at the square and Chad gets into it about his brother’s affair. EJ asks for respect. Chad reminds him he has to earn it and goes. Chad calls Will. He’ll do the article.
