Received this from a teacher that used to do after school w Jamie! This made me cry! Anyone who really knows me know I advocate for special needs! I just want people to accept and include! Thank you Edwina! Jamies story is totally awesome and is very special to me. In the middle 60s (Way back before you were born) my mother began to set up the special cottages at Orange Grove. From there she went to Knoxville and set up Sunshine Center for special needs children. From there she became the director of Developmental Disabilities for the state of Tennessee. She was a true pioneer in the field. She was a champion for the developmentally disabled. I can see the beam on her heavenly face with knowing of Jamies life and how totally awed she would be of you and David. Your dedication and love for Jamie has so advanced societies conception of Downs individuals. A big thank you and well done from me and especially my mother.
