This post is from our pastor, Eld. John Osburn. Good to have you on Bro. John We must keep in mind that all world governments have their roots at The Tower of Babel (Gen 11). All Gentile governments came from this first ungodly government that was at the building of The Tower of Babel; and now, as we’re quickly becoming a “one world system”, all the Gentile governments are returning to their original roots! America is quickly becoming a Humanist, Socialist, Immoral, and Bible Rejecting Nation! Even though America was founded upon Biblical principals, our society has become much like what was at The Tower of Babel - Godless! Israel is the only other nation besides America that was founded differently than all the other nations and their governments. Why was this country formed? For religious freedom! That is why you never hear in our public schools since the 1930’s, America’s true history being taught. The pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts, came there to have the freedom to worship God according to the dictates of their hearts and consciences. The Mayflower Compact, which was the first written document here in America that came from the people, starts out with these words: “In the name of God, Amen.”, shows forth immediately why these pilgrims left Europe to come here - to worship Jesus Christ in freedom! The beginning of the second paragraph of The Mayflower Compact reads: “Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith,..”. This Mayflower Compact which was signed by 41 men on November 11th, 1620, while on The Mayflower ship being anchored off the shore of Provincetown Harbor, Mass. It was created to form a legal binding of those who were on that ship to live in a society of law and order. The Mayflower Compact was only as good as the people’s intentions were in following it. Had the majority of people began to have no respect for it, and wanted to do as they pleased, that society would not have lasted one year! It was the people’s hearts that were willing to place themselves under this binding, this contract if you will, that made it work. The second paragraph of “The Declaration of Independence” says: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. Did you read anything that even suggests what you and I are witnessing with our government today as to how they’re wanting to control every aspect of our lives? Listen to what comes right after the first part of this paragraph: “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,…”. Our government was started by our Founding Fathers to be a help to the American people while they pursue their desires and happiness through their efforts and hard work; it’s not supposed to be replacing God by providing for us from the cradle to the grave! Why are we here in America losing our God given freedoms that are written in our Constitution? Because we have removed God from almost every aspect of our public sector. John 8:32 says: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:36 says: “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” We’ve lost much of our freedom because the majority of Americans have turned away from The Bible, and The God of The Bible - Jesus Christ! posted by Moody Roberts | 11:04 PM | 0 Comments GOD HAS BEEN SO GOOD TO ME As many of you know, I have been going through some very rough times physically. My doctor said I almost died. Well I am happy to report that God has been extremely good to me. April 25, 26, and 27 I preached for Bro. Tim Day at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. On Sat. night I also sang a solo. These are things I have done for 60 years, but Friday night was the first time I had preached since my retirement on March 3, 2013. Our round trip was 279 miles. Arriving back home, I was tired, but other than being tired, I fared very well. Keep your eye on Waukesha, Wisconsin, Their biggest employer just moved out. General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha, Wis., to *Beijing*. In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes - the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the United States. So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs. Thanks Jeff, youre a real American, and give Obama our Best! If this doesnt show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I dont know what does. *Please pass this information to others and think about it before you buy a GE product.*
