Recent review from ARTWORT - (Artwort is an online magazine of art, architecture, design, photography and fashion) Many thanks to Dalia Maini The faces and minds of Steve Salo by Dalia Maini June 7, 2014 Steve Salo is Australiano. define it only a painter would be an understatement, as his works require an emotional performance that leads him almost in a trance. Salo expresses his portraits all that is located under the front of corporal pain, chaos and the psyche of human nature. The aim of his work is to want to show the complexity and absolute man. The emotions, the disturbances, but also the character, which inevitably is reflected in our faces and our movements. He compares his face to the tip of the iceberg, which conceals a small part of the visible grandeur of components. Steve Salo depicts spasmodically, all his work is preceded by a thorough conceptual work that explodes on the canvas. The somatic and psychological traits of the people he portrayed emerging from the body of the color and sudden, sometimes violent, others light. Salo, although he could choose from the vast array of media to disseminate his concept, he decided to rely on oil painting. He often uses his hands to spread the paint, the touch of the raw material with his own body transmits vital energy to the paintings. His work includes portraits of artists that have inspired his poetry, such as Goya, Klimt, Pollock, depicted according to the vision of emotional Salo. It could be likened to a modern cubist emotional, whose aim is to capture all the possible facets of people.
