Recently I had a great (partial) game of Twilight Imperium. We had to break as its a school night and we all needed to go to work. Still, heres the viewpoint from my new favourite race... a sentient plant unity called the Arborec.... ...................................... We/I is/are the Arborec Symphony. Most recently of unitime we/I vied for control-union of the galaxyplaentspace. Here is my/our recordwritinglegacy of said conflict/union. Year 1 We/I are of desireneed to bring harmony/symphony/unity to galacticspace in warfareturmoil. We/I must do this through expansion/colony/growth. It is anticipated/understood there will be conflict/war/gardening involved if peaceful/superphosphate solutions may not be found. My/our immediateclose neighbourcompetitors are L1Z1X mindnet. Strange race/people/species of “Individuals”. Unusual and strange term. Machinemetaltech parts inside their bodies/units. Other neighbourcompetitor is Nekro Virus. Machinemetaltech race with no lifesign/sap/growth. This race hungers unquestionably. This race makes frequent use of terms “hedge trimmer” and “Roundup”. Must researchlearn. Further other racecompetitors are Winnu. More “individuals”. Individual is raceperson? Individual is each raceperson? Do not understand. Final racecompetitor is Sardakk N’orr. Insectfolk. Known of old. Planteaters. Very dangerous. Must watch/see/observe and grow strong. Have colonised/seeded new worlds. Growth goes wellgood. Sun shines and symphony expands. Unusual moment: Neighbourcompetitors have sent ‘diplomats’ for ‘trade’. Some sort of exchangeswap of ‘money’. We/I assume this to be of rare goodresources. Uncertain of amounts of worth, but races seem happypleased/brightsunwater. Will make/create/grow diplomats of my/our own in return. Unusual moment: L1Z1X sadsmallrootsbad with my/our diplomat. Spores used to reanimate corpse of dead/deceased/fertiliser ‘individual’ has been brandedtold it is ‘unnatural’ and ‘zombie’. Unsure of either term but behaviour suspicious. Have not heard from diplomat to Nekro. Appears to have been eaten/harvested/consumed. Will create/grow more sturdy/strong/bark/woody and send. Year 5 Growth continues Near disaster/weedkill: Open space becomes gravity rift. Colony/newhome/advancement is isolated/alone. Space closed until tech developed, but growth continues on all worlds. L1Z1X and Sardakk N’orr begin faceoff/buildup/wall. Nekro near my/our colonies but not advancing. Must prepare/ready for possible war/conflict on two fronts. Nekro diplomat/trade has offered to ‘pay’ for ships consumed. This benefits both of us. We/I see no difficulty, although reports of mass exterminations from Nekro planets upsetting. Nekro calls this ‘defoliation’. Also, fleshbeings being killed enmasse, too. Word reaches me/I/Us of tensionstress between Nekro and Winnu. Disaster: Nekro fleet lost to sudden supernova. Nekro learn first rule of good garden: Too much sun is bad. Year 9 Flagships produced. Knowledge developadvanced. Nekro satisfied. Strange alliance with Nekro: We/I devoted to spreading life/symphony across galaxy. Nekro equally driven to spread death/destruction/lifelessness. Have heard ‘individuals’ compare this to ‘angels’ and ‘demons’. Absorbed several books on subject. Still no clear understanding. L1Z1X on brink of war/conflict with Sardakk N’orr. Have pledged/given/told support but Sardakk appear very strong/powerful. New Sardakk ship, size of moon. Ominous feeling in my/our root system. Year 11 War/conflict. Sardakk N’orr has swept L1Z1X fleet from spaceworldgalaxy existence for little loss. Homeworld sure to follow. My/our alliance/requirement urges me/I to aid. Have prepared strike through dangerous space onto lightly defended world to pull back Sardakk fleetships and give L1Z1X time to regrow/spawn/spore. Nekro ally has expressed desire/hunger/need to bring fight/conflict to Sardakk but is too far away for any meaningful attack at this timeunit/juncture. The insect-free future of the galaxy depends on me/I/us and my/our unready fleet/ships. Diary ends.
