Recently I met with Benny Meng when he was in town. I had several people contact me and attempt to disparage Sifu Meng. I responded to one of them and said that I do not judge others by hear say, but make my own judgements, based on my own experience. Well, I have now had some experience. Below is a post I made to Sifu Mengs site, which was immediately taken down. So I am re-posting it here! Sifu Meng, I am sorry that I will be unable to attend the event in December. I do appreciate the invitation. I have a seminar scheduled for that same weekend. I do have another concern as well sir. When I met with you in Hampton a couple of weeks ago, you were in town to do a seminar for an individual who has been misrepresenting himself as a Wing Chun instructor, while not being qualified or certified to do so. You know his history, and that he has defrauded several other Wing Chun instructors and that he has also misrepresented his background and used the name of other Wing Chun instructors to give himself False credibility. In our meeting, you even said that if he becomes your student, that he would have to start from ground zero, due to his not having an understanding of Wing Chun principles, and that his knowledge and skill were very limited....Those were your words. Now he is calling you Sifu, and getting welcome to the family messages from your people, while continuing to promote himself as a Wing Chun instructor locally....but now using your name to add credibility! It was my understanding that if he was accepted as your student, he would not be teaching Wing Chun, until he had eventually become qualified to do so. But that is not the case! I am not able to associate with an organization that will promote an individual who is defrauding the public, and giving Wing Chun a bad name. I want to see Wing Chun respected, we spoke about that, and how bad it is for Wing Chun to have people like this misleading people and showing a substandard level of knowledge and skill as Wing Chun, especially now, when a well known instructor such as yourself lending credibility to his con game! So based on this, I must respectfully decline your offer to become involved with the Ving Tsun Museum. Respectfully, Tony Massengill
