Recently I was talking to my doctor who stated several patients - TopicsExpress

Recently I was talking to my doctor who stated several patients had similar situation but had gotten them discharged! She told me to Social Security.gov click student loan forgiveness for disability, download the form and bring it to her. Permanently disabled IS one of the criterions. Please look at the site. There are also exceptions for professionals, lawyers, doctors, teachers etc. According to the site it could take 3-6 months to get it discharged IF completed correctly and you meet the criterion. While in process of determining approval/disapproval you are not required to make payments! If working you must show undue hardship. If receiving SSDI, SSI you ARE below the poverty line so according to the law must be a consideration. At present my only proof of success is the word of my doctor. I just started the process. If anyone is interested in the outcome let me know. I couldnt file bankruptcy because I didnt have enough debt??? well no, I pay cash. anyway, I felt it important to share this.
