Recently Jetstar Australia changed the times on a flight I had booked. With a connection from Esperance via Virgin that needed to be changed I requested compensation for the extra cost incurred by their change . Following is their bullshit response....from-.Jetstar Via Email Dear Kelly, Thank you for contacting us about your Jetstar booking. I understand that you’re unhappy about the changes we’ve made to your flight times. We are aware of the impact it can have on our customers when we alter flight times or cancel flights so we try our best to avoid any change in our timetables. Still, sometimes we need to make adjustments so we can continue to provide you with low fares. It certainly wasn’t our intention to cause you any difficulties, and I’m very sorry that it has. I realise how upsetting it can be when you have made plans in advance, or selected a particular flight because it was the most suitable for you. Please accept my apologies. If your revised flight time isn’t suitable, we can move you to another Jetstar flight which is the closest alternative to the one you booked. We won’t charge change fees or fare differences for this change. Or, if we can’t rebook you to a suitable flight, or you can provide documentation showing that the new flight time will make the purpose of your trip void, we’ll refund the flight that was changed. Any supporting documentation can be submitted for review via our feedback form at: https://ssl.jetstar/au/en/customer-service-portal/general-feedback. If your flight in the other direction is still departing at the same time as you originally booked, we expect that you’ll travel on that flight, unless you can show us why it is no longer suitable either. To find out your available options, you can access your booking online under ‘Manage My Booking’ or contact our Telephone Reservations Team for more information. I’m afraid that I’m unable to compensate you for any additional expenses. Flight times do not form part of your contract with us and we do advise that we can’t guarantee that we’ll carry you at the scheduled time and date specified. If you have travel insurance you may wish to follow this up with your insurer to see if you are able to make a claim. Thank you again for sending me your comments.
