Recently, Travis my son turned 21. That is one of those epic birthdays that all of us have looked forward to in our lives.But, until today, this thought had not dawned on me until it hit me as I laid on the bed half awake. I have been around him on a continuous basis longer than I have any other human on earth. It took me a while to grasp this concept. My mom died when I was 16, my dad at 20 and my brothers and sisters got married or moved away to do their own thing. Friends and relatives have come and gone and hopefully come again. And even though, I have had days where I feel he is pulling away from me, he always comes back. The longest continuous day to day relationship with anyone on earth. How the hell did he put up with me that long? There must be something wrong with him.
