Recently a close friend of mine has give me a book that has helped me reflect on how I have been and how I would like to be... I think that the way I have been is one of the reasons my life has been so difficult for me to handle, I have been everything from depressed, angry, stressed, emotionally distraught, and felt like no one understood what I was going through. I even went as far as taking my aggression out on those who were closest around me, I also became reclusive and shut out those who mattered most to me. Its as if something in my head went in and turned the switch for my compassion, love, friendliness, empathy, and sympathy off. Even though something happened that I never wanted to happen has made me grow up a lil and start to look at life a lot differently with a whole new perspective. This book has helped me in ways I couldnt even imagine, Things I felt I should have been doing for a long time, some of which I had and some of which I hadnt... Today I have failed majorly at the very first one... All I can do though is try again, Do my best and hopefully things will get better.... 1. Be Impeccable with your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love. 2. Don’t Take Anything Personally Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering. 3. Don’t Make Assumptions Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life. 4. Always Do Your Best Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
