Recently a friend of mine got put in the spotlight and is now - TopicsExpress

Recently a friend of mine got put in the spotlight and is now looking to make money from the reason he was given the 15 min of fame. I have struggled with that since I found out and have asked myself what if anything that I could do that would earn me money for doing what I love. I am an artist, its in my blood and as an artist I am prone to be tied to the need to create regardless if others get me or not. It is a need, like air and water, I cant not do it, so what better thing could their be but to find a way to do what I need to to do and get paid doing it. My dilemma of course is in order to make money you need to have a product. An artist can become their own product but thats selling yourself for financial gain. I dont why I have a problem with that personally. Then you have the fact that I am a Christian, that mucks the whole system up. IMO if what youre selling derives from the gospel, it should not be sold for any price. This leaves me to take the road of the starving artist but maybe the artist is only starving because their art is not consumer friendly or maybe its not that good. Inflated perception of myself could be one reason for not earning dough from what I produce. So does that mean an artist is only an artist if what they do sells? I mean is art good without a price tag attached to it? Really let me ask WHAT IS THE VALUE OF ART? Is that value determined by the artist or the art itself? #liedetectormusic #LDM
