Recently, a friend requested a short book list and one of the must-reads that I gave was Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. Its about how a busy woman can balance life with doing Gods work. Just sitting here reflecting on how that book truly changed my life, and outlook on many things. Ive always been busy doing a bunch of different things because I loved it. Then, I would be worn out from busy. Now, I understand that everything that I do is me fulfilling Gods work through ministry. I cant NOT do it. By recognizing that its my ministry, and the way that I serve God I have a different appreciation. In the book, the author talks about how we have to find the places in our life where Mary worshipper/praiser merges with Martha the busy one/constantly serving. Once we stop looking at our to-do list as just another thing to do, but instead, the ways that we serve...the two sides of us work in sync. Feeling PRETTY GOOD as I do his work through the organizations that I volunteer with, and my own nonprofit.
