Recently, and particularly in the last few days, I have seen some photos of beautiful horses at the trot. Nearly ALL of these horses are disunited in the trot and yet the photos are still posted!!!!!! The trot is a 2 beat pace. This means that either all the hooves are off the ground or that a diagonal pair of hooves are on the ground and the opposite pair are off the ground. The legs MUST display a united movement meaning that the pair of legs work in unity. The hooves in that pair should leave the ground at the same moment and touch the ground at the same moment. The cannon bones should match each other in relation to angle to the ground and extension. Having one hoof on the ground, hind legs at different angles from the front legs etc is WRONG. I disunited trot should be penalized as it doesnt met the requirements of a sound movement. Please please please look at your photos carefully before posting as you do no favours to your horse!
