Recently got (book) Shimmy, Shimmy - Die! Die! to read on one of my recent plane trips. Written by Raymond Markley, I did NOT anticipate a good book! IMO experience, men tend to write from a female point of view very poorly, and belly dance as a focus just SCREAMS to me a male writer spending his time dwelling on something I was going to subsequently find offensive (yeah, I had my popcorn and bad attitude ready). Turned out this was well written, respectful and comfortably accurate-about-bellydance-technicalities-and-lifestyle. Nicely written mystery. Didnt ever make me cringe. So Im passing on my thumbs up to my bellydance friends. :D
