Recently ive seen some comic strips about that guy who got shot by the cop. All of them are sort of ridiculous to me. Most of them are a compairson a white kid leaving mom says put on a jacket. Black kid leaving mom says dont put on a hood dont talk to cops dont do this dont do that. And i find it really stupid. No im not all black, but im most certainly not all white either. When i left my house my mom said put on your jacket and dont be stupid. I was raised to not do illigal things to not knock over 711s or to bust a sag in my pants and talk like an idiot. White, black, purple, orange, whatever i was told to speak intelligently and not be rude to people of higher authority. If a cop stops you and says can you remover your hood, if its raining ill walk over to a dry place and remove it. After saying yes sir. If he asks me to turn down my raido or bass i will. Its not a targeting thing just because the person asking you to do something isnt the same color as you doesnt make it out of hate. And if it is from hate you dont run your mouth you comply within your rights and you ask for a badge number and report them. I feel bad that people have lost children to this. But it makes me wonder how the children were raised in the first place. Skin color only matters to those who make it matter. My friends and I look like one of those delux boxes of crayons when we are all together. And guess what...it doesnt matter because we know how to act on the street or in stores. Next time you feel like youre being profiled look at what youre doing. Is it 3am are you driving around a neighborhood bumping music? opra? rap? techno? Doesnt matter its loud. Are you walking around with a hood on and no rain in a gated neighborhood? youre being creepy... Are you walking around in a 711 touching everything with your pants around your ankles and looming over the register? Buy something or get out. People make it about color after the fact no one looks at facts. Is all im saying hopfully it will change if not what was fought for? Why not ask your grand parents about real racial profiling... /Rant.
